Fish is a pretty funny word if you look at it for too long! Anyway. Pictures:
Chopping action at our table!
Herbs for our herbed risotto: thyme, chives, basil, and parsley.
The sauce we worked on: tomato sauce, olives, capers, wine, and looots of red pepper flakes. We also added some garlic and olive oil.
Red snapper filets to go in the sauce
Red mullet being grilled. Poor fishies! (The guy grilling was probably wondering why I took like 7 pictures of this, but they kept coming out blurry, you know?)
Our dish after being baked
Oops, I forgot to take a picture of our risotto! It\’s the one in the center left. The other two were lemon (in the back) and wild mushroom (on the right).
The sea bass with peas and.. umm.. I don\’t know what else. Those peas were so awesome though!
My plate, of course! Top, going clockwise: red mullet (tasted too fishy for me), the fennel/tangerine/olive salad that went with it (now tangerines plus fennel … that is good stuff! but apparently I don\’t like green olives any better than the black), lemon risotto (good but a little too much of a dessert taste from the lemon), herbed risotto (yummy! though I made it a bit too thick, oops!), wild mushroom risotto (I got more once I realized the mushrooms were pretty good after all!), sea bass with peas (very very good), our snapper livornese (also good though a tad spicy).
I think the meat class was my favorite overall but they were all fun! Hopefully will get to take some more over the summer. :) Today I made muffins to bring to PT. Mmm muffins. And tonight my sister is getting inducted into NHS. Go her!
